The sun rose on a brand new day in Hazzard County, chasing away any
unwanted shadows that lurked in the dark corners of the sleeping city.
Hazzard was not awake enough yet to care about the drug problem that had
recently moved into Hazzard or the fact that the bank had been robbed unnoticed
in the middle of the night. The citizens of Hazzard would deal with this
later, but not now while it was still early and they still had time to
dream peaceful dreams. The only people up who could give the problems any
thought were standing on the porch of a centuries old farm house.Cousins
Bo and Luke Duke stood silently side by side watching the sun come up over
the horizon and not caring at the moment about the current problems of
their town or any town in the great USA for that matter.
Bo Duke closed his eyes and breathed in the crisp, chilly October air.
"I think its going to be a good day," Luke told his cousin as he leaned
on Bo's shoulder
Bo nodded. "Yeah and I hope Rosco doesn't decided to frame us for something
today,"
Luke laughed and slapped his cousin on the back. "Yeah i hope so to."
Both cousins fell silent for a few minutes as they watched the morning
continue to get lighter and lighter.
"I'm hungry. Let's go see if we can find something to eat," Luke said,
heading towards the door.
"Shouldn't we wake up Uncle Jesse and Daisy first?" Bo asked as he
followed Luke to the door.
Luke shook his head as he opened the door and ushered Bo ahead of him.
"No. Both of them were up late last night. We'll just let them sleep
for a while longer." he told his cousin
Bo turned around and made a face at Luke as he closed the porch door
quietly behind him.
Luke rolled his eyes at Bo. "Relax cousin. I promise not to burn breakfast."
Bo snorted. "I'll believe that when i see it,"
Luke reached out and swated Bo's hair as he walked past to the kitchen.
Bo laughed as he dunked out of the way.
Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane yawned mightly as he walked through the double
doors leading to the Hazzard Police Station. He hoped that today would
be an easy, uneventful day, but as he got a look at his deputy's worried
face, all hopes of that went right out the window.
Rosco sighed. "Let me get some coffee first and then you can tell me
the bad news."
Deputy Enos Straight nodded and leaned back in his chair. Enos knew
Rosco wasn't going to like any of what he had to tell him and he also knew
who was going to get blamed for all this. However, Enos could do nothing
about that, things just worked that way around here.
Rosco, now with a steaming cup of coffe in his hand, sat down in the
chair across from Enos. He wished fleetingly Boss Hogg was back from Atlanta,
but he wasn't and Rosco was going to have to deal with that and make his
own decisions. (If that's possible.)
"Ok. What's going on." Rosco asked sipping his coffee.
Enos breathed deeply. "The doc called this morning and said that at
least five more people were admitted to the hospital over night with drug
related problems."
Rosco whistled softly.
Enos went on ignoring Rosco. "Also Roger over at the bank called and
said the bank was robbed over night."
Rosco's jaw dropped. "How?"
Enos shrugged. "The alarm was cut."
"How much did they get?" Rosco asked almost afraid to get the answer.
"They left about $2,000 in there?" Enos said
Rosco's jaw dropped even further. He couldn't believe this and wondered
for a second if Boss Hogg had something to do with this. After a few seconds
Rosco stood up and put his coffee down on the desk and walked rapidly to
the door.
"Come on," Rosco called over his shoulder.
"Where are we going?" Enos asked, already knowing full well where Rosco
was heading.
Rosce stopped at the door and turned around. " You know where were
going you Dipstick! Now lets go!!"
"How do we know that Bo and Luke are behind this?" Enos protested.
Rosco gave Enos a dirty look. "Shut up Enos! Now let's go!" he said
grabbing hold of Enos and dragging him out of the police station.
Within minutes they were on there way to the Duke farm.
A lonly farm house stood on the border of the Hazzard County/Chickasaw
County border. It was far enough back in the woods that it was well hidden
from anyone trying to find it. That made it a perfect place for a hideout.
James Allen, former Army captain and now leader of a small wannabee
mafia crime group in the Atlanta Crime Underground, stood in the early
morning light surveying the grounds around him. Things were going well.
No one suspected they were here and hopefully no one would.
"Dad?" a voice behind him said.
James turned to see his 21 year old son come out onto the porch behind
him. "Morning Frank. How are you this morning?"
Frank Allen grinned and ran his hand through his brown hair. "I'm great
dad."
"That's good. What is your report of last night?" his father asked,
all business now.
Frank was still grinning "Did everything you told us to do."
James smiled. "Anyone see you?
Frank shook his head. "Not a soul."
"Jim!" a new voice called out.
"Yeah David. I'm out here." James answered his second in command.
David Rogers came out onto the porch "Your daughter just called in
and said that the police are on there way to the duke farm."
James smiled. "Good. Everything is going the way that i planned it."
Frank rubbed his hands together and smiled also. Seconds later is smile
faded. "Hey! who is watching after my sister?"
"Jason is with her.She won't get into any trouble if that's what your
afraid of." David told him
Frank rolled his eyes "Last time i looked, Jason didn't like this group
very much either. We can't trust those two." he snapped
"Both of you, shut up!!" James snapped, breaking into the argument
before it could turn violent.
Both Frank and David closed their mouths and looked at their leader.
"Jennifer and Jason learned their lessons the last time they crossed
me. They won't do anything stupid this time." James calmly told them and
added " But watch them closly anyway.
David nodded "Yes sir."
"Come on. Let's go get the rest of this group up and go over the rest
of the plan." James told them.
"Again!" Frank complained
"Shut up Frank," James told his son.
"Hey boss. What do we do if the Dukes come looking for who framed them"
David asked.
James studdied his second in command for several seconds. "We kill
them. No one will stop us from bringing this town to its knees. Nobody!"
A black Trans Am sped along the road to the old farmhouse/hideout. The
girl driving the car didn't care how fast she was going mainly because
she knew the police were occupied somewhere else.
"Jenn, we have to do something. We can't let your father ruin this
town and it's people," Jennifer's companion told her.
Jennifer Allen sighed and ran her hand through her long brown hair.
"Jason. I wish we could do something, but we can't. You know that."
Jennifer calmly told him.
"I know, but we have to try and do something." Jason pleaded.
Jennifer shook her head "Jason, you know damn well what my father will
do to us if we try and run off." Jennifer said getting angry
"Since when has that stopped you?" Jason snapped.
Jennifer turned her grey eyes on him for a second "Since the last time
we tried. Or have you forgotten about that?" she snapped.
Further conversation was cut off when a man stepped out from behind
a tree and held up his hands for Jennifer to stop. Jennifer stopped mear
inches from where he was standing.
"Mike, do you plan to get yourself killed?" Jennifer snapped
"No, but i bet you sure would like that," Mike commented, gesturing
for them both to get out of the car.
"You'd make me walk?" Jennifer asked, mock hurt to her voice as she
and Jason got out of the car.
"You know the drill." Mike told her as he got into the car and puled
the car into the trees, where the gang was keeping the other cars.
Jennifer sighed and turned her sad grey eyes on Jason.
"Jas, i'm sorry, but you know we can't do anything. Now lets go see
if we can help my father." she said taking him by the arm and pulling him
the rest of the way to the farmhouse.
Luke was sitting on the couch reading the newspaper when he heard the
sirens. He looked over at Bo, then at Uncle Jesse and Daisy.
"Now what do they want?" Uncle Jesse asked to noone in particular.
"I have no idea," Luke said getting up and going to the window. He
was joined by Bo seconds later.
"Remind me to keep my mouth shut cousin," Bo muttered.
Luke chuckled and shook his head.
Several minutes later Rosco came barging through the front door without
knocking.
"Rosco P. Coltrane!! Knock next time!" Jesse told him.
"Sorry Jesse," Rosco apoligized.
"What do you want Rosco?" Daisy asked.
"Your boys." Rosco said pointing to Bo and Luke.
"What are you blaming us for this time?" Luke asked crossing his arms.
"Robbing the bank last night and selling drugs," Rosco said getting
his handcuffs out.
"Rosco!! We did no such thing." Bo exclaimed.
"Oh tiddly tuddly. Don't lie, you know your guilty," Rosco stated going
to handcuff Bo.
"Rosco, i want to show you something," Daisy said coming to her cousins
rescue.
"Not now Daisy. Later," Rosco told her as he snapped one set of handcuffs
around Bo's wrists.
Daisy put her hand on Rosco's arm and gave him her best smile. "Come
on," she told him seductivly, leading him to a back bedroom. Daisy ushered
Rosco ahead of her into the bedroom and as soon as he had gone in she slammed
the door shut behind him and held it tightly.
"Go," Jesse instructed his nephews as Rosco beat on the door.
Bo and Luke ran out the door and stopped when they saw Enos standing
at the bottom of the steps.
"Go. Get out of here now," Enos told them
"Thanks Enos," Luke told him as he pulled Bo along behind him to the
General Lee.
Enos watched them go. "Your welcome," he said as the general disappeard
from sight. He turned and walked into the house.
Daisy let Rosco out several seconds after Bo and Luke had run out the
door. Rosco gave Daisy a dirty look as he ran to the door and collided
with Enos.
"Enos you dipstick!! Get out of my way," Rosco cried pushing past Enos
and running to his car.
Enos sighed, told Jesse adn Daisy he was sorry and walked out of the
house.
"Lets go you dipstick!!" Rosco shouted from his open window. "There
getting away!'
Enos got into his patrol car and followed Rosco in hot pursuit of the
two duke boys.
Further down the road, the General Lee was trying to stay ahead of
Rosco and Enos.
"Is there anything in here that will unlock these things?" Bo asked
indicating the handcuffs.
"We'll worry about those shortly. First i need to get rid off those
two." Luke told him
Several minutes later, Rosco was in the Hazzard car wash and Enos was
trying to get him out. After Bo and Luke made sure they were ok, they continued
on at a slightly slower pase.
"Where to now?" Bo asked
"We're going to have to get some answers to all this. Let's go see
if we can find Cooter." Luke told him as he sped towards town.
Several minutes later, they were at Cooter's Garage. After Luke hid
the general under a tarp, both boys went to find Cooter. They eventually
found him, working on a car.
"Cooter." Luke said.
"Hey Luke!! Be with you in a second" Cooter told him.
"We don't have a second," Bo said urgently.
Cooter rolled out from under the car and sat up."What's wrong?" he
asked wiping his hands and standing up.
"We're in trouble and need some answers." Luke told him.
"Yeah and I need to get these off," Bo stated holding up his hands
with the handcuffs on them.
As Cooter got something to get the handcuffs off of Bo, he listened
intently to what Luke had to say.
"Luke, I don't know who could be behind this. Rumor has it its either
the mafia or a smaller crime group. Other than that, I really don't know."
Cooter told him.
"We have to find out somehow, so Luke and I can clear ourselves," Bo
protested.
Cooter shook his head "Bo, it it's really in fact one of those groups,
then i think it would be wise to leave well enough alone." Cooter told
him, finally getting the hand cuffs off him.
"Thanks Cooter," Bo said, rubbing his wrists.
Cooter slapped Bo on the arm "No problem," he told him and followed
Bo's gaze to where he looked at his thoughtful cousin.
"Well cousin?" Bo asked Luke after a minute.
"I don't like it, but we're going to have to track down whoever is
responsible for framing us and clear our names," Luke told them.
Cooter shook his head "Luke, you could get yourself killed doing that."
"I'm not sure i like that cousin, but i know it's the only way since
Rosco isn't going to believe us long enough to catch whoever it is," Bo
told Luke
Cooter sighed, hopeing very much that he wasn't going to have help
bury these two in a few days. "Alright, If you need my help give me a call,
but right now i'm going to have to go help Rosco. I can't ignore him for
much longer." he said jerking his hand at the CB.
Bo and Luke laughed.
"Thanks Cooter," Luke told him as he walked out of the garage with
Bo hot on his heels.
"You can thank me, by not getting yourselves killed!!" Cooter yelled
after them.
"You got it!" Bo yelled back as he helped uncover the General.
Both boys jumped into the General and sped off. Cooter roared out of
the Garage to help fish Rosco's patrol car out of Hazzard Pond.
"So, what's the plan?" Bo asked as Luke jumped over a small ditch.
"We go back to the farm, tell Uncle Jesse what we're going to do and
split up. Hopefully that way we will find them quicker," Luke answered
him.
"What if we do find them?" Bo asked
"Call for back up. Then figure out what to do next." Luke replied.
Both boys remained silent the rest of the way home. When they got to
the farm, they went looking for their Uncle and found him out in the barn.
They quickly outlined what was going on.
"I'm not sure i like this," Jesse told them after they finished.
"We don't like it either Uncle Jesse, but it is the only way." Bo said
Jesse relunctantly nodded
"Alright, but be careful." he told them
Bo and Luke told them they would and after going into to the house
to get a few things, they split up. Bo, takeing the General went south
from the farm and Luke taking Uncle Jesse's pickup went north. Both boys
were determined to find some answers.
After several hours:
"Lost sheep #1 calling lost sheep #2 come back." Luke sighed over the
CB.
"This is lost sheep #2, i'm not home at the moment, please leave a
message after the beep and i will get back to you. Thank you." came the
reply
Luke rolled his eyes "Bo, get serious."
"Yeah, i'm here. Go ahead," Bo replied laughing
"Find anything yet?" Luke asked
"No. Not a thing." Bo told him
"Yeah i haven't found anything on this end either. I think we need
to give it a couple of more hours and give up. Go back out tomorrow, with
some help," Luke told him.
"That's fine by me," Bo replied
"Alright. Oh, one more thing. Rosco is back out looking again. So try
and avoid him." Luke warned his cousin
Bo snorted "Like the plague cousin,"
Luke rolled his eyes again and laughed slightly "Ok clown boy. I'll
talk to you later. Over and out."
"Channel clear," Bo said
"Now where would i hide if i were a criminal?" Bo thought to
himself and then snorted "Which i am at this moment."
Sighing loudly Bo kept on driving. After a few more minutes he eventually
came to a fork in the road and he stopped. Bo knew that Chickasaw county
wasn't that far in front, so he knew he wasn't going to be able to go ahead
and since he had just come from Hazzard Pond, he took the road to the right.
He never noticed a man step out from behind a tree at the entrance to the
road. Nor did he notice as the man raised a walkie talkie to his mouth.
James was resting in a chair in a back room when his walkie talkie started
skuawking.
"Hey Boss. This is Richard. We have a problem."
James picked up his little box and was about to answer when Mike called
in.
"Yeah and the problem just passed here."
"What is the problem?" James asked crossly
"I think it's the General Lee." Mike answered him
James narrowed his eyes. This could only mean trouble. "How many people
are in the car?"
"Just one. I think it's Bo Duke." came the reply
"Alright. Thanks. We'll handle it up here. Over and out," James told
them.
James sighed and got out of his chair. He went to the door and opened
it. "Frank, get in here!"
Frank dropped what he had been doing and went to see what his father
wanted. "Yeah dad?"
"Seems that Bo Duke has found his way to us." James told his son
Frank, intrigued at the notion that he might just be able to kill someone,
raised an eyebrow. "What would you like me to do?"
James thought for a second " Take a couple of people and watch him.
If he gets out of the car, bring him to me."
"Dead or alive?" Frank asked, holding his breath
James was quite for a moment, thinking. "Alive," he finally said, placing
some imphasise on the word.
Frank pouted. "You like to spoil all my fun."
"Frank, just go!!" James told him angrily.
Frank bowed slightly and left the room. James could hear him calling
for people in the next room.
After driving a short distance, Bo spotted a farmhouse back of the
road. Stopping the General, he decided that he would forgo calling Luke
for a second and go take a look. Bo crawled out of the car and surveyed
the grounds around him. Taking a step forward, Bo heard a click behind
him, making him stop in his tracks.
"Ok blondie, don't move. Put your hands in the air and don't try anything
stupid. Their are several people, including me, that are itching to pull
a trigger," Frank told him.
Bo did reluctantly as he was told.
"Good boy. Now move," Frank instructed, pushing the gun into Bo's back.
As Bo moved towards the farmhouse, he noticed three other guys with
guns. He knew that with odds like this he couldn't afford to try and escape.
"You know. You really weren't supposed to find us," Frank told him
"Yeah well. My cousin and I don't sit around doing nothing when someone
frames us for crimes we don't commit," Bo retorted
"Cute. Real cute," Frank said pushing Bo inside the house.
Bo stumbled, but remained standing.
"Well, well. Who do we have here?" James asked as he came out of the
back room.
"Who are you?" Bo asked
James sneered slightly and Bo knew he was done for, but luckily James
did nothing.
"First off, prisoners don't talk unless they are spoken to first. Is
that clear?" James asked
Not wanting to risk the consequences, Bo shook his head and kept his
mouth shut.
"Good boy. Now if you remember that, then everything will be fine."
James told him
"What do you want us to do with him?" Frank asked getting antsy.
James thought for a second "Take him into my office and tie him to
a chair. I want to find out everything he knows."
Frank snorted "Like it really matters. You already know..."
James cut him off "Frank, quite giving me lip. Now do as i told you!"
Frank did as he was told, ruffly pushing Bo into the next room.
James turned to David and motioned him over "Get the truth serum."
David nodded and moved into another room they were using as a supply
room. After James gave his daughter and Jason, who were standing against
a wall watching what was going on, a fleeting look, he walked into his
office and closed the door.
James leaned back in his chair and ran a hand through his hair. It had
taken over an hour and they had found little out from Bo that they already
didn't know.
"Well, what do you want us to do with him?" Frank asked
James waved a hand and shrugged "For now, leave him tied up, but put
him in the supply room."
"Are we planning on asking for ransom?" David asked
James thought for a second "We'll give them a call tomorrow and let
them know we have their cousin, but as for a ransom.." James broke off
for a second, looking over at Bo. Bo stared right back at him, holding
his breath "There will be none. We aren't giving him up. At least alive
that is."
Bo gulped "You're not going to get away with this," he told James
"I already have kiddo," he responded and looked at his son "Frank."
he said simply, jerking his thumb at the supply room.
Frank went over and pulled Bo to his feet and marched him into the
supply room, threw him in there and closed the door behind him.
"What are we going to do with his car?" Frank asked
"Take it and leave it at Hazzard Pond. Someone will find it." James
instructed him
Frank nodded and left. David came up to James. "Boss, why keep this
kid alive?"
"Because he can be useful. He knows everything to know about this town
and its people." James answered his second.
"What if he doesn't want to cooperate?" David asked.
James smiled and cracked a nuckle "Oh, we have ways of makeing him.
One way or another Bo Duke will help us."
Luke sighed wearily as he stopped the truck in front of the Duke farmhouse.
Getting out, he slammed the door shut and looked around the yard. He didn't
see the General Lee and got slightly worried. Shrugging, he walked up the
steps and into the house.
"Uncle Jesse?" Luke called as he walked in the door.
"I'm in the living room." Jesse answered his nephew
Luke ran his hand through his hair as he walked into the living room.
He stopped in his tracks when he saw Enos sitting on the couch. Turning
around, Luke started to run for the door.
"Wait!! I'm not here to arrest you! I know your innocent!" Enos exclaimed.
Luke sighed, came back into the living room and sat heavily down in
a chair.
"Anything?" Jesse asked
Luke shook his head. "Not a thing. I searched most of the county and
found hide nor hair of anyone supicous."
"What about Bo?" Enos asked
Luke shrugged "Last time i talked to him, he hadn't found anything
either."
"Where is Bo?" Jesse asked
"I don't know. I was hoping he was here. He may be on his way," Luke
said starting to pull off a boot.
Jesse thought that through for a second. "All the same. Why don't you
give him a call just to make sure."
Luke pulled off the other boot and nodded. Getting up he walked to
the CB. Picking it up, he talked into it.
"Breaker, Breaker. One lost sheep calling the other. Come back." Luke
said into the CB.
There was no response, so Luke tried again.
"This is Luke, calling Bo, come back."
Still no response. Luke looked back at his Uncle and Enos and both
stared back at him.
"Try again," Jesse prompted
Luke nodded. "Cousin, this isn't funny. If your out there, please answer,
"
There was still no answer and Luke gave up, a very bad feeling starting
to form in the pit of his stomach.
"Maybe he is out of range." Enos offered.
Jesse looked as worried as Luke felt. "Maybe," he said
Luke ran a hand through his hair and briefly closed his eyes. "I'm
going to go look for him. He may be out of range, but..." Luke broke off
shrugging
Jesse nodded "You should go look," he told Luke
"I'll go with you. We can take my patrol car," Enos said, putting his
hat on and walking towards the door.
"Thanks Enos," Luke said, getting his boots and following Enos out
the door. At the bottom of the steps, he turned and looked back at his
uncle. "Uncle.." Luke started, but Jesse cut him off.
"Just find him. I'll stay here in case he comes back and you miss him
on the way," Jesse told his nephew.
Luke nodded and got in the patrol car. Jesse watched them as they disappeared
from sight.
About an hour later as the sun was going down, there was still no sigh
of Bo or the General and Luke was getting desperate.
"Dammit, where is he?" Luke said more or less to himself.
"We'll find him, don't worry. " Enos reasured him. His words were almost
drowned out by Cooter calling over the CB
"Breaker, Breaker, this is Crazy Cooter coming atcha. Any Duke home
on the Hazzard Net, come back,"
Luke picked up the CB. "This is Luke. Go ahead Cooter,"
"Yeah i just came back from a call and found the General. Thought you
might like to know." Cooter responded.
Luke looked at Cletus "Cooter, is Bo there?" Luke asked, holding his
breath.
Cooter's confused voice came back to him "Ah no. Why? I thought he
might be with you and you just needed the car towed."
Luke closed his eyes. "Where are you now Cooter?" he asked after a
moment.
"Hazzard Pond. What is going on?" Cooter responded
"We'll be there shortly Cooter. Hang tight." Luke told him and turned
to Enos "Step on it," he told him.
Several minutes later they were at Hazzard Pond. Seeing Cooter's tow
truck, they pulled up next to it.
"What is going on?" Cooter asked as they got out of the car
"Bo is missing Cooter, " Luke told him sharply and walkd a little ways
away to where he could have a better look at the Pond. But there was not
much to see in the fading light.
Enos pulled out his flashlight from the glove compartment and got out
of the patrol car. He went to the General and searched the car. Cooter
joined him. Enos saw the piece of paper first and picked it up. Turning
his flashlight on it, he read it.
Meanwhile Luke was down by the Pond searching. "Cousin this joke is
not funny. Where are you?" he said out loud
Both Cooter and Enos walked down to where he was. Neither where happy.
"This isn't a joke Luke. Read this," Enos told him, holding out the slip
of paper.
Luke took the paper and read it. "Dammit!!" he said after a second
Enos looked at him for a short second before saying anything. "Luke,
i think we should go to Rosco about this,"
Luke snorted "And have him throw me in jail and tell me i'm behind
all this. No thanks Enos," he snapped.
Cooter laid a hand on Lukes arm "Luke, i think Enos is right. Maybe
with Boss not being here, we can convince him of how bad the situation
is and get him to believe us."
Luke looked at Cooter for a long moment. "Alright," he finally sighed.
"Ok. Let me get the General hooked up and then I'll go with ya'll."
Cooter said moving to his tow truck.
Twenty minutes later Luke, Enos and Cooter pulled up in front off the
Police Station. As they were getting out of there cars, Uncle Jesse, with
Daisy in tow, pulled up. They had been called and apraised of the situation
by Luke. Both looked upset.
"Ok, lets get this over with," Luke sighed and with everyone else behind
him, walked into the Police Station.
Rosco, who had been looking at some papers, looked up as Luke and the
others entered through the double doors.
"Well, I see Enos finally arrested you.Or are you giving yourself up
freely?" Rosco asked with a giggle
"Rosco. Luke is not here to be put in jail. This is serious, we need
you to help us," Jesse told him trying not to sound to angry.
Rosco was slightly taken off guard by Jesse's forcefulness and shut
his mouth. Looking at each worried face, he sighed and sat back in his
chair. "Alright, what have i caused now?" he asked finally.
Luke sat down in a chair as he prepared to tell Rosco what had happened
and thought better of it. He got up out of the chair instead and started
pacing. Jesse place a hand on his arm and Luke stopped. He looked at his
uncle and after taking a slow breath he calmly started to tell Rosco what
had happened.
"I'm sorry ya'll. I didn't think this was that serious." Rosco said
after Luke and the rest had finished telling him there story.
Luke andvanced on him angrily. "That's right you didn't think. You
never think anything is to serious until something bad has happened. So
something has happened. Now what the hell are you going to do about it?!"
Rosco got up out of his chair and stared at Luke "Luke, you and Bo
are much to blame as I am..." Rosco started to say, but Luke cut him off.
"Now wait a minute!!!!" Luke started and went to walk around the desk
with his fist raise.
Daisy quickly got between the two men and help up her hands. Luke stopped.
"Now wait a minute, the both of you. Fighting isn't going to get Bo back."
she told them and went on angrily "You both are to blame for this, so accept
it and get on with it."
Luke looked at her and then at Rosco. Relenting, he backed down and
calmed slightly. "I'm sorry Rosco." he finally sighed.
Rosco nodded and sat down. "Yeah, i am to." he said
Daisy sighed in relief. "That's better. Now we're going to have to
figure out what is going on and what were going to do about it and fast,"
Daisy told them and added "Bo's life is a stake." With her last statement
she went back and stood next to Jesse, who had been watching the proceeding
silently. He reached out and drew her into his arms and hugged her. Cooter
and Enos, after finding seats, sat down.
"We don't have much to go on," Luke told them as he to sat down.
"Yeah, I haven't got any wanted posters in lately?" Rosco chimed in
"Then we go on what we have and find out more as we can, "Jesse told
him
Those words echoed through everyone's mind as they sat about for the
next several hours trying to figure out what was going on and how they
were going to go about bringing Bo back and stop whoever was behind all
this. Around 2 a.m. they all called it quits and went to their respected
houses to sleep, but no one really slept well that night. They were to
worried.
3:30a.m.: Jennifer moved through the sleeping bodies to the spot where
Jason was laying. Waking him up, she motioned him to be quiet and to follow
her.
"What's going on?" Jason asked her when they were out of earshot of
the sleeping gang members.
"We're going to go talk to Bo," she told him
"Is that wise?" jason asked worried.
Jennifer looked at him for a second. "Yes." she finally hissed at him
and turned back around and quietly opened the supply room door. Turning
on the lamp she help in her hand, Jennifer pulled Jason into the room ahead
of her and quickly followed him inside, closing the door behind her.
Bo, alerted that someone had just come into the room, opened his eyes
and looked at the newcomers. Jennifer put a finger to her lips and pulled
a knife from her pocket. Bending down next to Bo, she cut the ropes around
his hands and feet. Bo, who was confused now, looked at her questioningly
as he rubbed has wrists.
"It's ok. I'm not going to hurt you," Jennifer told him, sitting down
on the floor next to him
Bo looked from her to Jason before he said anything. He didn't quite
trust them, but something in the girls eyes told him she and her companion
were ok. "Who are you?" he finally asked.
"I'm Jennifer and that is Jason," Jennifer told him smiling and jerking
her thumb at Jason, who was still standing by the door.
Bo gave them a lopsided smile, but didn't say anything further.
Jennifer sighed and reached into her jacket. She brought out a small
thermos, and after takeing the top off, offered it to Bo.
Bo gave her a quizzical look.
"It's soup. Drink it," she told him.
Bo shook his head. "I'm not hungry," he told her.
"Yes you are, don't lie. There is nothing dangerous in here," she told
him and added "Take it. It may be awhile before you get to eat again,"
this time when she finished she pushed the thermos into Bo's hands.
Bo took it from her hesitantly and after sniffing it, took a cautious
sip.
Jennifer sat there for a few minutes in silence, letting Bo drink the
soup. Jason finally came away from the door and sat with them.
"Bo, i think you should be aware that it would be wise not to try and
escape," Jennifer said after several minutes.
Bo finished the soup and put the thermos down on the ground next to
him "Wasn't planning on it," he lied
Jennifer studied him for a few seconds, "Yeah and pig's have wings,"
she finally said with a grin.
Bo sighed "What if i was?" he asked, testing the waters.
"If you try, then there is a very good chance of getting killed. I
know you or your family doesn't want that." she told him and then added
much more softly "And neither do I"
Bo looked at her for a long moment. "What if you help me?"
Jennifer looke away from him when he said that and Jason spoke up.
"Should I tell him?" he asked Jennifer who was now clearly upset.
Jennifer looked at him for a second. "No. I'll explain." she told him,
clamping down on her emotions quickly.
"Look Bo. I don't like it here either, but my dad brought me here and
here is unfortunaly where i'm going to stay. I've tried to leave and so
has Jason. The last time it happened, dad threatened to kill me." she stopped
for a second and then went on. "Bo, these are not common criminals you
are dealing with. These people are alot similar to a mafia family and just
as deadly. So, if you want to stay alive for now, you will cooperate and
just maybe, when we pull out off Hazzard, you will be sent back to your
family alive. So there will be no escape attempts. Do you understand?"
Jason held his breath, hopeing Bo would not protest further.
Bo nodded "Yes," he finally answered
Jennifer laughed slightly and looked over at Jason. "See he understands.
He sure as hell doesn't agree with it, but he understands. Looks like more
than you did when you came here."
Jason kept his mout shut, taking the jibe.
Jennifer looked back at Bo, who was now looking at the ground. She
slid closer and put a hand under his chin and made him look at her. "Bo,
Jason and I are your friends. You can count on that. Just stick close to
us and you will be ok."
Bo searched her eyes for a second before nodding. Jennifer reached
over and hugged him reasuringly.
About thirty minutes later, they all fell into a fitfull sleep.
